Coffee Beans – How long to grind for drip coffee maker?

I recently joined Seattle Coffee Direct and received coffee beans and Cuisinart coffee grinder. I always just bought ground or ground it using the machine at the grocery store. So, I need advice. Why does my coffee taste so bitter all of a sudden?

I have tried different measurements of water and coffee, but my coffee keeps tasting horrible and it seemed to happen from one brew to the next – although there was a few weeks in between. Is my Mr. Coffee machine to blame? I use Dunkin Donuts, or Christopher Bean brand, but am still looking for my favorite. What is your favorite brand and brewing method. I like a lite to medium roast and would love to make a good pot at home for a change.

Thanks for your input.

How does a coffee maker brew different strengths of coffee?

I have this 12 cup coffee maker that has the option to brew either a regular pot of coffee or a strong pot of coffee. When my mother’s visiting she puts it on regular and I put it on strong and there really is a difference. How does it do it?
Sorry if its blatantly obvious. ;)

How do you froth milk with an espresso maker?

I recently bought an espresso maker and I am having a very very difficult time frothing the milk. I probably made a mistake buying the cheapest espresso maker I could find. The brand is Mr.Coffee. I know, stupid move. But it was easier than using a french press and a pot on the stove. Anyway, what I’m wondering is simply, how do you successfully froth milk? Tell me everything there is to know about frothing. Is there a difference between foam and froth? I have been using 2% milk. I heard that is the best to use. I have been doing fine with making espresso. I have Starbucks espresso roast beans. Could anyone tell me how to do this? Or am I basically stuck because of the machine?
Oh, and please do not tell me to read the instructions that came with the machine because I have. Many times. It is vague and confusing. Mainly because the pictures don’t match up with the machine.
I don’t heat my milk up first but I do put the tip just under the milk and I know which buttons to use.
