Buying a one cup coffee maker? Worthwhile or terrible coffee?

I was reading an article at http://www.espresso-and-coffee-makers.com/single-cup-coffee-makers.html which wrote: "The benefit of having your single serve coffee machine is that single cup coffee makers allow you to brew coffee one cup at a time. This is a wonderful idea for busy professionals on the way out to work in the morning,"

I’m thinking about getting a single cup coffee maker for the office… but I’m worried about… a. having fresh coffee… are the capsules actually fresh? b. getting supplies for the machine… c. finding other drinks for the machine esp. for those who don’t drink coffee…

Any thoughts on this?

Any good coffees for Tassimo coffee maker?

I just got a cool Tassimo coffee maker for Christmas! I know they have lots of different types of coffee for it, but I was wondering if anyone could suggest some? They are kind of expensive and I don’t want to do a trial and error thing and end up with 12 different kinds I dislike. I’m normally a Maxwell house med blend kind of girl. I love starbucks drinks (white mocha, Carmel macchiato, hazelnut latte) but their regular coffee is too strong for me. Thanks for your help!

Coffee? Tassimo vs. Keurig?

My husband and I bought a Keurig about five years ago and it recently "died" on us. Yesterday I saw a similar coffee machine by Tassimo that makes latte, espresso, cappuccino, tea and hot chocolate, rather than just the coffee, tea and hot chocolate that the Keurig makes.

Any suggestions on which one to buy? My concern is that the Tassimo makes so-so coffee since it also makes so many other drinks, has anyone felt this way?

What do lattes and cappuccinos taste like?

I am not a really a coffee drinker. Recently my sister got me to drink a Dunkin Donuts iced coffee with sugar and a shot of espresso. It wasn’t bad and I kind of liked it. Now I am tempted to try some more coffee-type drinks. I am wondering what lattes and cappuccinos taste like (the hot or iced versions). I don’t want to buy one if they taste repulsive.

How do I make good ice coffee?

I just had that .20 ice coffee from Burger King, and loved it on this hot day.

How would I make it at home? I’ve never really had ice coffee before, just regular coffee (and a lot of it in my days).

Do you just make coffee, pour it over ice cubes and add milk and sugar to it? Or is there are more complicated procedure involved?

I’m talking about sweet, cold coffee with creamer over ice cubes, not the milk shaky drinks they have at Starbucks.

How long does packaged coffee (the kind used in coffee stores) last?

I have inherited the responsibility of running a fundraising booth for my Highschool’s music program, which sells coffee, pastries, and other cafe drinks and foods during our annual town fair. We have quite a bit of coffee (packaged and boxed) that has been kept cool since last year’s fair. Is it likely spoiled? Still decent to use?

Regardless, I have ordered all new coffee, just wondering if we should throw out what we have left, as it is.
I can not check the expiration date as it is in code. Every company codes their expiration dates differently, I do not know how to read this one. Clearly if there was an exp. date legible, I would have no qualms about throwing it out.

Question about the Starbucks in CANADA.?

as silly as this sounds for most of you, i never go to starbucks. i was there once before and that was a while ago (where i tried to order using "medium" and made a total fool of myself hahaha i now know to use the term ‘grande’ :P ).
so this question is for those of you in CANADA only please, as there might be a difference in products offered in Canadian or US Starbucks.

I’m going to a Starbucks on a date with a guy I’ve gone out with before and I really like him. I just wnat the ordering process to go really smooth and I want something I won’t need to sweeten, etc. Something I can just take as is and walk to the table with :P So I’m thinking a latte…? I just thought maybe you guys could give me some advice as to what I could order that is tasty, easy to pronounce (haha :P ), and not too expensive.

As a little sidenote here.. this is the first time we’re going on a date that has something to do with food or drinks or just ordering in general. So if I get there before him (which I’m planning on doing), do I wait for him to order, or do I just go ahead and order and then wait for him with my drink?

How do Europeans make their coffee at home, if at all?

My understanding is Europeans drink espresso-based drinks and never ordinary brewed coffee. Americans make themselves brewed coffee at home or sometimes buy it from coffee shops–brewed coffee is not as strong as espresso, so it is cheaper. First, is it true Europeans don’t drink brewed-at-home coffee (percolator, French press, drip coffeemaker, etc.)? So do they always have to go out for their espresso? Or do people have espresso machines at home?

Yes, I am posting this in a German forum, hoping to hear from true Europeans and not Americans. But if you know of how Europeans outside of Germany consume their coffee, too, please enlighten me. :)
Mary, good info, thanks. I for some reason thought espresso makers were crazy expensive, but they are within reach for the average Westerner. And I didn’t know stovetop espresso makers even existed.

Yes, I was aware some Americans have espresso machines. But I would venture to guess that most have a plug-in drip coffeemaker–or if not that, something like a French press or even an old-school percolator.

I have found the quality of Starbucks coffee to vary tremendously from store to store, so I am not always a fan. I guess it depends on whether the person preparing it knows what he or she is doing. Some smaller local shops in my city are far more consistent and of high quality.
I met some Germans, and they were reminiscing about coffee back home (i.e., in Germany) being "pressurized"–I believe they were referring to espresso.
Yahoo!, if I went to that Jamia person’s link (since removed), did I run a security risk? Is s/he collecting personal info? It looked like a Yahoo! Answers page but not quite right….

How much coffee is it safe/medically or physically possible to drink?

I recently watched the Futurama episode ’300 Big Boys’, in which Fry drinks 100 cups of coffee. I was pretty sure that it wouldn’t be possible for someone to drink that much coffee, but how much coffee is it really safe/medically or physically possible to drink?

Best economic espresso machine?

I am a coffee lover but the price of drinks are ridiculous. So me and my cousin decided were going to buy an espresso machine and start experimenting with some drink combinations. Since ive never owned one before im not really sure what i should look for in one. We’re going for the more economic options since we cant dish out 0 right now. So ive found a couple decent options in my opinion (the cheapest ones). So which one would be the better value?
