I new coffee is tasted like wine and that there are two types of beans, robusta and Arabica. But that was the extent of my knowledge on coffee. First, let me get the obvious statement out of the way. To many people, whatever coffee they like to drink is the best coffee in the world to them. It could be what mom or dad put on the pot first thing in the morning, to Folgers, Maxwell House or whatever is being served. They have adapted to the taste and that’s what they like to drink. I wonder if that developed from trying their first cup of black coffee which probably was horrible and was of poor quality. I’m one who always wondered how someone could drink theirs black. Maybe after this research, I’ll find one, try it black and see if there is a change from what my memory bank tells me. How the Best Coffee Beans in the World is Determined In starting the research, I went the Specialty Coffee Association of America which overseas the annual “cupping” contest run by the Roasters Guild. Coffee Beans – How long to grind for drip coffee maker?
I recently joined Seattle Coffee Direct and received coffee beans and Cuisinart coffee grinder. I always just bought ground or ground it using the machine at the grocery store. So, I need advice. How many coffee beans do I put in for a pot of coffee? How long do I grind it to get the right grind for my drip coffee maker? How long do I grind for my percolator (yes, I have one of those too).
Are the coffee beans in chocolate covered espresso bean just any kind of coffee?
I love chocolate covered espresso beans. Given that I’d like to lose a couple of pounds I wonder whether I can just buy any roasted coffee beans and enjoy them without the chocolate. Or Is there any extra treatment the chocolate covered ones get?
Is the caffeine in guarana listed in the caffeine information on energy drinks?
I’m doing some research on the dangers of energy drinks. I came across a fact that guarana, often found in energy drinks, is very high in caffeine. Apparently, guarana seeds contain more caffeine than coffee beans. Monster and Rockstar both have 160mg of caffeine per can. Just wondering, does that number include the caffeine found in guarana?
How long do coffee beans stay fresh?
I know that ground beans should be consumed within two weeks of purchase but what about roasted coffee beans, how long can i keep them before they turn crap?
I don’t want storage tips, i want to know how long they will last.
